Apple ready to invest $500 million for its new Arcade service

It is unclear why 2019 has been devoid from good releases, but we speculated that it may have something to do with Apple's upcoming subscription service. The tech giant didn't spend much time on Apple Arcade at its Services event earlier this month, but the Finacial Times has since learned that Apple has budgeted more the $500 million for its gaming service.

It has been a weird year for games on the App Store. There seems to be a shortage of quality titles each week, making selecting an App of the Week a difficult task. Perhaps developers are waiting for Apple's new subscription service Apple Arcade. If that is the case, it is going to be a long year for mobile gamers until the service is available in the fall.

Can I share Apple Arcade games with my family?

Apple Arcade subscriptions allow access for up to "six family members." Subscribers will need to set up a Family Sharing account to be able to share their Apple Arcade subscription with up to five other accounts that have the same credit card associated with their Apple IDs.

You can set up a Family Sharing account by going to Settings > [your name] > Set Up Family Sharing. All you need is an active Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes to create an account. Your Apple ID can only be part of one family at a time.

Apple announces first games for Apple Arcade

Apple on Monday announced three new subscription services, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and Apple TV+. Apple Arcade will allow iOS users to access over 100 premium games for a monthly subscription fee. The service will also routinely add new games which can be played across all devices including the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Games will not include any ads or in-app purchases.
