How do I delete / remove an iPhone app that is stuck installing?
Sometimes iPhone applications get stuck waiting or loading when installing. These apps might be frozen with a blank icon and no way to remove them for days. Holding down on the home screen to delete the stuck app won't even show the black circle with an "x" that appears on other icons. Here are instructions on how to delete these waiting applications:
- Reboot your iPhone normally. See this link for instructions on how to restart your iPhone.
- If the apps are still stuck on the home screen, try logging out of the App Store temporarily. Navigate to Settings -> Store -> Apple ID -> Sign Out. Now open the App Store and Navigate to the Featured section. Scroll to the bottom of the page and touch the Sign In -> Use Existing Apple ID. Log in and the stuck apps should reset.
- Still have strange icons on the screen or frozen downloading apps? Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes. Navigate to the app store. Install the apps you are having a problem with on the computer then sync your iPhone.

I have this issue and couldn't figure out how to delete the app! I read a post on here that said go to settings-->General-->storage or storage and iCloud usage-->look for the app that's giving the problem-->scroll to the bottom where it says delete app! Delete it! Reinstall it! Worked for me!

Try ti install it with vshare. How to install vshare: go to safari type www.vshare.com and then hit install. When it's installed hit trust and find the app you wanna install. Also vshare can install any paid app for free. Enjoy :).

This is what finally worked for me, thanks!
Setting>genera Like>usage>Manage storage
Then delete the affected app.

The location is actually Settings => General => Storage and iCloud Usage => Manage Storage then scroll to find the app, select it, then tap "delete app" but it works perfectly!
I then went back to the App Store and downloaded it again and it installed successfully.
The name of the offending app in my case? The Apple Store app itself!

BLESS YOUR HEART! I have had this app "waiting" for over a week. I have viewed I don't know how many threads on the Apple site and come up empty. Today I decided to do some more searching and came across this page. Thank you so much for providing this information. This worked for me and I am less stressed out for it. THANK YOU!!!

I just had the same problem and rang Apple's Help Line. Very helpful!! The lady told me to go into Settings - then General - then Usage - find the programme that was *stuck* in waiting mode - click on "Delete". All sorted!! Thanks Apple lady.
