Walmart has announced that it will offer the 16GB iPhone 5c for $79 and the 16GB iPhone 5s for $189. $20 is a pretty substantial discount for a new Apple product, and the $79 price point makes the iPhone 5c actually sound affordable. Both deals require that you sign a new two year contract with either AT&T, Verizon Wireless or Sprint, and are in-store only. You may want to call ahead to verify prices and availability before heading down to your local Walmart, in case they sell out.
Apple will begin accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5c on September 13, 2013. The plastic iPhone will be available in lime green, white, yellow, red and blue starting at $99 for the 16GB model, and $199 for the 32GB model. Apple is not accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5s. It will be available in space gray, silver and gold at your local Apple store starting at 8:00 a.m. on September 20.
Also don't forget, the 8GB iPhone 4S is free with a two year contract, and T-Mobile will be offering the iPhone 5s contract free for $549 (16GB) and $649 (32GB). There are also rumors that Walmart will be dropping the price of the discontinued iPhone 5 in the near future. It is currently listed for $98 on Walmart.com.
Here's the complete breakdown of Apple's new iPhone pricing plans:
iPhone 5s: $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB), $399 (64GB)iPhone 5c: $99 (16GB), $199 (32GB)
iPhone 4s: Free (8GB)
