iPhoneSIMFree, the for-profit developers who brought you the first publically available iPhone software unlock solution, have doubled their efforts and released the first working software unlock for iPhones running firmware version 1.1.1.
Though efforts by the iPhone hacking community at large, primarily the iPhone Dev Team, have yielded jailbreak and fileystem access solutions for 1.1.1 iPhones, the iPhoneSIMFree is the first full fledged unlock to work with Apple's new iPhone firmware. Interestingly however, the iPhoneSIMFree folks were actually only able to port their SIM unlock solution to the new firmware based on the work of the iPhone Dev Team which delivered the recent 1.1.1 jailbreaking solution.
iPhoneSIMFree seems to be spreading the good will in return. In addition to unlocking an iPhone running firmware version 1.1.1, it will also unbrick iPhones that were intentionally bricked by Apple when users updated their unlocked phones to the new firmware. Though phones unlocked with iPhoneSIMFree were not bricked by the 1.1.1 upgrade (only relocked), phones unlocked with free solutions such as iUnlock or AnySIM were. Regardless, the new version of iPhoneSIMFree restores all phones running 1.1.1 to working, unlocked status.
iPhoneSIMFree for 1.1.1 is for sale through several online retailers for what appears to be the same price as the pre-1.1.1 unlock. Head to our original article on the iPhoneSIMFree release for a list of online retailers.

I purchased a copy of this software from one of their retailers. A week later it still is not registered in their system and despite contact from customer support over the week. still no action. The retailer's site had wrong download files -hopeless.
In the end bought another product on ebay for half the price which was a up and running in 40 minutes.
I wasted 15 hours with these tossers.
