There were a lot of well received games released to the Apple App Store this week, but not a lot of free titles. If you are only looking for free games, you can still grab Super Stickman Golf 2 and Pac-Man for free for a limited time. Other App Store highlights include the return of Duke Nukem, and Yahoo's push to take over iOS Home screens with the release of its news app on January 1st, and its overhauled Sports app.
Here's a quick look at some of the new games and apps released to the Apple App Store this week (01/05/14 to 01/11/14).

Castle Doombad: $2.99 for the iPod touch and iPhone (Requires iOS 4 or later) Rated 9+
From Adult Swim, Castle Doombad is a unique defense game where players must place traps and minions to defend their castle.
Dr. Lord Evilstein has kidnapped a princess, and now his evil lair is crawling with do-gooders. In this reverse spin on tower defense it’s your job to defend your home turf from heroes trying to save the day. View your domain from a side-view perspective, placing traps and unleash minions on your unwitting foes to protect the fortress. Touch and drag up and down on the tower to navigate floors. Across three chapters and 45 levels you’ll outwit intruders that attempt to invade your castle from all sides—ladders allowing them entrance on higher floors, underground drills to start on dungeon floors closer to your fair maiden. Keep the princess safely in your clutches and send those heroes cryin’ back to momma.
