Can I update my jailbroken iPhone to iOS 8.1.1?
Any iOS device compatible with iOS 8.1.1 can be updated. If your device is already jailbroken, beware: updating to iOS 8.1.1 will wipe the jailbreak. This means all tweaks and customizations will be erased and stock iOS 8.1.1 installed.
The good news is that iOS 8.1.1 can be jailbroken. So updating just means the device must be re-jailbroken after the update is complete.
Before jailbreaking iOS 8.1.1 with TaiG it is recommended to install a clean copy of iOS 8.1.1 using iTunes. In other words, do not use over-the-air (OTA) updates in iOS settings. Connect the device to a computer and restore to iOS 8.1.1.
After jailbreaking with TaiG, tweaks and customizations must be manually reinstalled using Cydia. Click here for instructions on how to restore purchases from Cydia.tags:
