For reference, the original Apple Watch shipped on April 24, 2015. Pre-orders of the device opened on April 10, 2015. If Apple retains the annual hardware updates that iPhone users have become accustomed to, the next Apple Watch should launch in spring 2016.

Apple is said to be working on the next generation device, and rumors are already circulating. Among other enhancements, the second-generation Apple Watch is reported to include a FaceTime camera. The device will also be available in additional collections, with cases made of materials such as tungsten and titanium.
