Are Refurbished iPhone 3GS Models Available?

Yes. AT&T has begun to sell refurbished iPhone 3GS models on its website. In order to qualify for the discounted pricing you must be a new subscriber and sign a two-year contract.

The 16GB refurb 3GS model runs $149 and the 32GB is $249. Refurbished iPhone 3G models are also available in 8GB and 16GB capacities for $49 and $99 respectively.

AT&T defines refurbished phones as "independently tested and reconditioned pre-owned phones with a 90-day warranty." Purchasing a refurbished iPhone essentially saves $50 over normal contract-subsidized prices.
