Could it be that Apple plans to reveal iPhone OS 4.0 as early as March 14th? Multiple sources have received anonymous tips pointing towards a demo of the new OS by Apple next month. This date roughly coincides with the first iPad ship date, and has led to speculation that iPhone OS 4.0 may ship on the new device.
Apple has typically announced updates to its iPhone hardware in June. This year should be no different and the company is expected to reveal its fourth-generation iPhone on schedule. What has thrown industry watchers off track is that the iPad was announced in January running iPhone OS 3.2. This operating system is not yet available Apple's heralded smartphone.
The 4.0 update is expected to be available only on 3G and 3GS iPhone models. Features will include a refreshed user interface with additional navigation features making the iPhone feel more like a computer. Improved syncing for contacts and calendar applications and more multi-touch functionality throughout the entire OS is expected.
An Apple patent has also been discovered, which if implemented in iPhone OS 4.0 would allow users to place icons for contacts directly on the home screen.
iPhone OS 4.0 has already been spotted in access logs in California, suggesting that the operating system and 4G iPhone hardware is already out in the field for testing. Unfortunately, March 14th is a Sunday this year, so we're not holding our breath for an iPhone OS demo quite yet.

iPhone OS 3.0 was demonstrated in mid March of 2009, so it would be no surprise if they demonstrate OS 4.0 in March of 2010. THERE IS NO WAY IT SHIPS WITH iPad because it must go through beta testing and programmers have to test their apps with it first. Right now OS 3.2 is in its second beta and iPad will release with 3.2.

OMG, and apple patent? I think not! Apple playing catchup, maybe.
How about multi-tasking, did apple invent that too?

Your an idiot shut up. you think apple is playing catch up what planet have you been on apple has revolutionized the laptop and phone to a level that all others seem to be tring to reach. what proof go into any major cell providers store and look through your touch screen phone options they all look very similar to a do i even need to finish that thought. i think its a great idea to be able to put your more frquently used contacts on a page to be able to e-mail text or call them with minimal usage of the phone. you got any better ideas? go back to your berry and cring about your stupid scroll, i am happy with my iPhone and i still think that it is probably the best phone ever made. with or with out multitasking which i can pretty confidently say will be hitting the iphones as an update to the OS

You an idiot and you shut up lol. Apple has not revolutionized the laptop and phone your idiot lol. a level that others are trying to reach????? Who? Who wants to sell laptops (albeit nice) at a huge price that only computer illiterate people would spend as they have been told it's easier to use, or perhaps designers who want to use specific applications. Apple have not broken into businesses as their software and hardware are too expensive, so according to you, microsoft has revolutionized business's lol. FYI, Blackberry's are still the best email, IM and smsing device on the market, so apply needs to catch up in that respect. And I remember apple trying to catch up to the whole phone market in respect to mms, copy and paste, decent camera, front facing camera????? LOL at the iPhone fanboy. (p.s. I own an iPhone and love it, but am not a fanboy). If you are going to say it's the best phone even made, then you obviously have been locked up your entire life. Nokia have sold plenty more phones than apple, and have been doing so for much longer. I still remember classics like the 3210, pretty sure eveyone owned that phone, and loved it, and is probably one of the best phones every made - as it performed brilliantly as a PHONE! This phone was one of the first phones to include an internal antennae, which amazingly the iPhone has. Seems that the 3210 was pretty revolutionary at the time......

Tablets have existed for a long time before apple released an oversided iPod touch....... and apple developing products at a level that others are trying to reach????? Who? iPhone is currently very popular as all the kids are getting them. Doesn't make it the best phone ever. Business users are still getting blackberries and windows phones, simply because as a business phone iPhone does not stack up. LOLOLOLOL @ not having multi tasking, I think iPhone better catch up to it's competition!!!! MEGA FAIL! My prev winmo phone was 3 years older than then my first iPhone 3g, and it had multitasking.

Actually Apple has broken into businesses. If you were to look at any video or audio production business...you would only see macs. Its because they are the best when it comes to that, and there is a reason why people only use macs for that. Try using a pc for audio or video production and I guarantee you will have a horrible experience. I've used it on both and am happy to say that I will never use a pc again.
The iphone did revolutionize the smart phone industry. one word APPS. Now every single phone company is rushing to try to make there own app stores. And sad to say they have come up short...very short. The android market is a complete joke. With mediocre games and apps that are not worth anyone's time or money. And those are the paid apps...the free ones are even worse.
Any ways, still to this day, there are no phones that compare to the ease of use. They are made by ONE company, all the hardware and all the software. It wont shit itself like you windows based phones. I've had windows phones, android phones and an iphone. I still can't find one that works as well as my iphone.
Oh and by the way "For the third year in a row Apple has been named the World’s Most Admired Company by Fortune Magazine — this year by the widest margin ever. What makes Apple so admired? Fortune explains: “Product, product, product. This is the company that has changed the way we do everything from consume music to design products to engage with the world around us.” Apple also ranked #1 in Innovation among all companies." Just an FYI

Haha, ah apple, I really hate you lol. Just a big company pushing it's money around. I bet the next iPhone will still have the super low res screen, along with its stupid camera. Which reminds me, have apple patented mp3 ringtones yet??

You are all fanatics that need to learn how to spell. People, none of us benefit either way. If you like it, buy it. If you don't like it, don't. Is that simple.
