Facebook rolled out a new messaging system for iPhones and Android devices on Tuesday. The new Facebook messaging app simplifies the way you stay in contact with your friends and family by offering an extension of the Facebook messaging feature.

Facebook Messaging is a separate app that allows you to use one click to receive or send messages that are sent through notifications or texts, making it easier for you to connect with your friends on facbook or in your phone's contact list. The app saves all e-mails, texts, and messages so you can keep track of conversations on your mobile device or computer.

How to fix Gmail incorrect password/user name error on iPhone?

Sometimes the iPhone mail app will intermittently stop getting Gmail and the dialog box below will appear. The message "The user name or password for imap.gmail.com is incorrect" can show up even if you have made no changes to your Gmail account settings on the iPhone.

How can I hide the keyboard in the messages app (SMS) on the iPhone?

After you type a text message or a reply message on the iPhone, the keyboard sticks around. This leaves only half the screen to read your text messages from the person you just contacted. Hiding the keyboard would make it easier to read the SMS messages.

Will the iPhone notify me with alerts when I receive a new email?

Yes, but only if you have the right Settings configured.

The iPhone will not give you a choice of alert tone, but you can switch on new email alerts by navigating to Settings -> Sounds -> New Mail -> ON.

In order for you to receive new email alerts when a new email arrives in your inbox, you must also navigate to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data -> Push -> ON. If your email accounts support the feature, new emails will be pushed to your iPhone immediately and an alert will sound.

Can I change the email notification sound on my iPhone?

No. Apple offers only one email notification sound to let you know a new email has arrived. If you are interested in changing this tone you must jailbreak your iPhone. You can switch the email notification sound on or off in Settings.

To turn the notification sound off or on touch Settings -> General -> Sounds -> New Mail -> ON/OFF.
