After recently adding 3G streaming support, Sling Media has updated their SlingPlayer mobile iOS app again. Version 2.1 adds component cable video out support on the iPhone 4 and iPad when streaming in HQ mode.

This feature makes it possible to watch your favorite shows and other SlingPlayer media on a television right from your mobile device. SlingPlayer Mobile 2.1 also includes several bug fixes to improve stability and app operation.

Those looking for a Babel Fish can now have the next best thing on their iPhones. Today Google released the iOS version of its Translate app. This mobile powerhouse will translate between more than 50 different languages. What's more, Google Translate listens to spoken sentences in 15 different languages and spits out a written translation.

Text in 23 languages can also be spoken aloud by your iPhone with the press of a button. The app also features a zoom capability that makes the translated text large on your screen to show another person what you're trying to say. Speaking words into the app is as simple as pressing the microphone button, while entering text with the keyboard is also possible.

Game developer Rovio is at it again, with 18 new Angry Birds levels commemorating Valentine's Day coming to Angry Birds Seasons. According to reports, the updated expansion pack will make its way onto the App Store on Monday, a full week before the holiday. Those who already have Angry Birds Seasons will get the new levels for free.

The app, last updated on December 10, costs $0.99 and already includes 45 levels for Halloween and 25 Christmas-themed levels. An HD version is also available for the iPad for $1.99. Valentine's Day levels will be contained in a new episode titled "Hogs and Kisses".

Apple's iOS App Store just keeps getting bigger. The unstoppable torrent of mobile apps available via iTunes has soared to more than 350,000 titles, with 60,000 of these specific to the iPad. Apps are divided amongst 20 different categories and available for download in 90 countries worldwide.

The App Store just surpassed 10 billion individual software downloads since its initial launch in July 2008. In fact, this amounts to a whopping 18 million average downloads every day the App Store has been in operation. Assuming there are roughly 160 million iOS users, each iPhone, iPad or iPod touch owner has acquired an average of 62 apps for their device.

Most people think of tag as a child's game, however it can foster competition and a whole lot of running around. Now adults can play tag with their friends and the latest update to the Nike+ GPS iPhone app. The new version adds several games that will have runners setting up athletic contests between them and their friends in no time.

It's simple, track your run and then tag your friends using the app. They have three days to participate while you sit back and see who picks up their iPhone and runs. They can try to beat your distance, time, or even just be the first one to step up to your challenge.
