We are in the age of subscription services. Physical media is all but dead except for those few collectors still holding on, and Netflix is no longer the only game in town. Every major media company from Disney to Apple have announced plans to launch their own streaming service. The latter, Apple, announced several subscription services earlier this year, but left out details such as pricing, launch dates and so on.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2019 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. As usual, Apple is expected to preview their next operating, iOS 13, at the beginning of the event. "People familiar with the development of the operating system" have tipped off 9to5Mac about some of the upcoming features planned for iOS 13.

The latest iOS beta has been seeded to developers. Unlike the most recent public release of iOS 12.1.3, the next step promises to contain at least some new features for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. iOS 12.2 has already been pored over by developers, revealing a few items on the horizon for Apple fans.

Report: Apple to cut iPhone 8 production in half ahead of iPhone X launch

A new report in the Taiwan-based newspaper Economic Times (via Reuters) claims Apple plans to cut iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus production by nearly 50 percent in November and December. Cutting production of its latest flagship iPhone before the holiday shopping season would typically be a bad sign, but Apple is most likely preparing for the launch of the iPhone X.

Analysts believe that Apple plans to focus on the iPhone X which delivers a radical new design and new Face ID feature. However, Apple shares still "fell 1.5 percent in premarket trading on Thursday as brokers and traders speculated over poor demand and cuts in production of the iPhone 8," according to Reuters.

Report: iPhone with stylus coming in 2019

Apple reportedly has engineers working on a stylus for the iPhone. Despite Steve Jobs' famous lines disparaging smartphones with a stylus ten years ago, times have changed. The iPad Pro supports Apple Pencil, and devices such as the Galaxy note come with the accessory. Should Apple launch an iPhone-compatible pencil, it wouldn't be available until 2019.
