Looking for a free, legal and advertisement-free way to stream your favorite music on the iPhone or iPod touch? HypedMusic version 1.0 provides just that, with a simple interface that can be synced using a Facebook account (or not). The app makes it possible to create playlists of your favorite tracks.
You will have to know exactly what you're looking for, since there's no way to browse for artists or songs. Search results are sourced from all over the web, and although sometimes a music server might not work well, available songs play just fine for the most part. Like other music apps, HypedMusic will play your tunes while running in the background.
Logging in with your Facebook account will sync playlists automatically, so you can listen to your tracks on a computer through the hypedmusic.com website. There's no limit to the number of songs or number of hours you can listen to music accessed by the HypedMusic app. According to the developer, Luke Li there are many improvements coming to future versions of the utility. This includes album browsing, radio stations, trending songs and social media integration.
The HypedMusic service has already been operating for two years, and now iOS users can enjoy the benefits of this project. Although services such as Pandora, Spotify or Rdio may offer tracks that can't be found on HypedMusic, having access to these without advertisements means a subscription cost. HypedMusic can be installed on iOS 5.0 and later running on devices including the iPhone 3GS and later, or iPod touch 3G and later.
