It's been four years since Apple has significantly updated the MacBook Pro, and change is on the horizon. While media reports have pointed to some interesting features in the pipeline, there has been some debate over when Apple will choose to reveal the new model line. The Michael Report now states with certainty that Apple will launch the MacBook Pro and iPhone 7 at the same event.
Not only this but their sources, who are said to be involved in the event planning, have confirmed an event date of Wednesday, September 7th. The news comes hot on the heels of several new leaks surrounding the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus design.
New photos from Letem světem Applem (LsA) confirm the form factor will be similar to the current iPhone 6s. Shown above in gold, it's clear the iPhone 7 will feature redesigned antenna bands, however the bottom of the device cannot be seen. Apple is expected to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack, replacing it with another microphone and a symmetrical grille matching the speaker side.
The larger iPhone 7 Plus sports a dual-camera, which can be seen in the wider camera lens opening at the corner of the device. Some reports indicate the iPhone 7 Plus will come in two different models, one with a standard camera and an iPhone Plus Pro with the dual-lens assembly.
When it comes to the MacBook Pro, several improvements are expected:- A thinner profile
- Updated processors and higher performance graphics
- New colors including space gray and gold
- A touch screen display strip above the keyboard that can change for each app
