Update: Super Mario Run will be available on the Apple App Store on December 15, 2016. The app will be free with an option to unlock the full game for $9.99.
Legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto announced on September 7, 2016 that Super Mario Run would be Nintendo's first mobile game for the iPhone and iPad. Little is known about the game at this time, but in an interview with IGN, Miyamoto revealed that the game will be a premium title without IAPs or additional paid content.
"But of course one of the reasons that we want to offer the game for a set price is so that parents who are buying it for their kids can know that ‘I’ve bought the game and now my kids can play it as much as they want and there’s not going to be additional costs associated with that.’"
There will be a free version of the game as a preview for players who want to give it a test run. Super Mario Run will also include several different modes, such as a single player "world tour" and battle mode.Nintendo didn't announce a final release date for Super Mario Run, but it is scheduled for a December 2016 launch.
