No room mapping data is sent to Apple. HomePod can automatically customize its sound based on the interior of the room. Moving the HomePod means it will scan the area and map sound to the new space.
While some products have been known to collect and upload data about the layout of a home, HomePod performs all analysis locally. Nothing is sent to Apple's servers until Siri is asked a question using the statement "Hey Siri".
