Though the iPhone launch is still over a month away, expectant buyers can now get their hands on a new software package from Roxio (the makers of popular softwares Toast and Popcorn 2) which converts video for syncing to the iPhone, iPod, or Apple TV. Roxio's new software, called Crunch, converts DV, AVI, MOV, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, DivX, DVD-Video, Video_TS folders as well as other formats.
According to Roxio, crunch shares a good deal of it's underlying technology with Popcorn 2. However, Crunch is designed specifically for ease in export to the iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV. Crunch contains templates which optimizes video for playback on each device.
Amongst Crunch's key features are batch video conversion, allowing users to easily convert numerous videos at a one time and custom MPEG-4 and H.264 quality settings.
Currently, Crunch is available as an online download for Mac OSX users only but will reportedly be available on store shelves for Mac and Windows users alike in the near future.
