Live action 'Death Road to Canada' trailer features zombies, a driving dog and more

Death Road to Canada

Rocketcat Games zombie road trip simulator, Death Road to Canada, has been in production for a very long time, but the developers have released a new live action trailer and promised that a PC release is coming "in the first third of this year. The developers dropped by the Touch Arcade forums on Monday to let everyone know that the game will also be coming to iOS, and that they will be publishing regular updates on the official website until the PC release.

New zombie fighting game coming to iOS and Google Play in October

Dr. Carver Zombie Deathmatch

In the year 2036 a genetically engineered serum has turned some humans into zombies. The government eventually captured all the undead and locked them within some of the largest cities, and that's when mob bosses like Papa Rainbow took advantage of the situation turning zombies into cage fighters. That's the basic story behind Zombie Deathmatch -- an all-new fighting game launching this October.

The game follows an immune human who sets out for revenge after Papa kills his zombie friend Brock because he wouldn't sign with his roster of fighters.

Halloween App(s) of the Week: Zombie Highway Trilogy

Zombie Highway 2 is now available for free on the App Store. The Zombie Highway trilogy is a series of survival / endless runner-like games, including the spin-off Zombie Highway: Driver's Ed, where players must survive a drive on zombie infested highways.

Zombie Highway

What makes Zombie Highway unique is while most racing games discourage hitting obstacles, players are encouraged to sideswipe overturned cars and barricades to scrape off zombies clinging to the sides of their car. Players can also run over slower zombies and use various weapons to blow them away, but ammo is limited and the best defense is smashing into things. However, you can only sideswipe obstacles, hitting them head-on will end the game. Only grazing obstacles isn't that easy when you have two to three zombies rocking your vehicle back and forth making it harder to control.

Dead Defense Now Available for the iPhone and iPad [Free iPhone Games]

Dead Defense is now available for all current iOS devices. It is a typical Tower Defense game where you must use a variety of towers and special abilities to defeat waves of various monsters and bosses. The controls are very simple, but the game play can be kind of difficult. The game does not allot you enough time between waves to set up your towers, and too many different types of monsters come at you from a variety of different directions. It also takes a few seconds for each tower to be built or upgraded, making it hard to adjust on the fly and learn the layout of each level. The restart button will be your best friend in this game.

Dead Defense

Make sure to pay close attention to the tutorial and learn about each individual tower's abilities before you start the game. There is no encyclopedia or in-game information to help you along the way. Tapping a tower's icon during the game does not bring up its individual stats, and tapping a power up icon will only bring you to an in-app purchase screen if you do not have enough crystals to use it. Not having enough time to plan your defense, and not having easy access to a individual tower's information can make Dead Defense seriously frustrating.

UPDATE: You can see the specs for all the towers under the "Research" section.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 Available for iOS Tomorrow

After almost being delayed for a month, the long awaited sequel to the popular Plants vs. Zombies iOS game will be available tomorrow. Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is the first official sequel since the original game was released in 2009. That's unless you count the few spin-offs like the Facebook game Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.

Plants vs. Zombies 2

The release of the sequel is so highly anticipated that the App Store posted a teaser image to its Facebook page alongside a message that reads: "It's about time. Guess what game is coming tomorrow?"

Allen Murray, Senior Producer for Plants vs. Zombies 2 promised fans that the game would feature plenty of new content and a entirely new gaming experience. However, some are worried about the game's freemium status. This means the game will be free to download, but it will most likely require some in-app purchases to be able to enjoy the full experience.
