Those with jailbroken iPhones have become accustomed to customizing the look and feel of their devices. Now even the lock screen can be altered thanks to the tweak Vexil. Once installed, Vexil thanks you for purchasing the package by immediately modifying your lock screen.
To change things more to your own personal liking, navigate to Settings -> Vexil. Here the tweak provides a plethora of options and settings, from the default lock screen look to the outrageous. You have control over the appearance of elements such as the Top Bar, Bottom Bar and more.
When modding the top bar, custom text can be used in place of the time, or the time itself can be customized with different colors and fonts. Animations and color options for the bar itself are included, and the appearance of the date can also be modified. Similar features are available for the bottom bar, including different colors for the unlock knob, and the option to change the text in the knob.
Even the camera grabber can be spruced up with Vexil. One nice feature disables the status bar clock on the lock screen, while other “experimental” features are listed to further individualize the lock screen appearance.
Vexil is available on Cydia from the BigBoss repo for $0.99. Check here for instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 6.x with evasi0n. You can also find out how to purchase and install Cydia tweaks with this guide.
