How can I restore full names in iOS 7 Messages?

Names appearing in Messages are listed by first name only in iOS 7. Although this is a more casual approach that also saves space, it could be an easy way to mix up some of the duplicate names in your contacts. For those iOS 7 users who prefer full names, the option to revert means changing these settings:

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> CONTACTS -> Short Name -> OFF (grey switch, NOT green)

iOS 7 will still use nicknames for contacts with a nickname entered. You can take this a step further and turn off nicknames for these people using the following switch:

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> CONTACTS -> Prefer Nicknames -> OFF (grey switch, NOT green)
