How can I turn off the app zoom animation in iOS 7?

For those with motion sickness, iOS 7 can be cause problems. Apps zoom in and out of icons when launching or closing to the home screen, which might look sharp but is not to everyone's liking. Apple got the message that iOS 7 zooming isn't for everyone. The iOS 7.0.3 update makes it possible to switch off the zoom effect.

In order to turn off the app zoom, follow these steps:

1. Update to iOS 7.0.3 or later. For instructions on how to update iOS click here.
2. Navigate to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> ON (green switch).

The zoom is now replaced by a fade when opening apps. The fade is also slightly faster than the zoom animation. Reduce motion will also turn off the 3D / parallax effect on the home screen wallpaper.
