Actor Sir Patrick Stewart will lend his voice to the upcoming mobile game, Leonardo’s Cat, from StoryToys. The upcoming educational title is aimed at children and families with art from illustrator Michael Frith (The Muppets, Fraggle Rock). Leonardo’s Cat follows Scungilli, da Vinci’s faithful feline companion, as he goes on a quest to find his owner's missing invention, the Automaton. Scungilli must explore the ancient town of Amboise for the missing robot while solving puzzles and avoiding traps.
Leonardo’s Cat will feature 60 levels across six environments inspired by 16th-century France.. Players will need to utilize different da Vinci inventions to solve puzzles and collect stray parts of his missing invention. The game includes animated cutscenes featuring Patrick Stewart as the voice of Leonardo da Vinci, a soundtrack inspired by the Renaissance world and lots of inventions to play with including catapults and ornithopters.
“At StoryToys, we’re focused on finding the right balance between narrative and play in a way that children and families can enjoy,” said Barry O’Neill, CEO of StoryToys. “Leonardo da Vinci is essential to our knowledge of art and the Renaissance, and it has truly been a joy to work with Michael Frith and Patrick Stewart to bring Leonardo to life as a curious, mischievous character.”
Leonardo’s Cat is coming soon to the Apple App Store for only $2.99. It will support the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. You can learn more leonardcat.com and follow along on Facebook and Twitter.
