The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are set to launch on September 16th, but Apple has warned customers that there will be limited quantities available at retail locations on Friday. Apple has issued a statement announcing that the iPhone 7 Plus and all jet black models have sold out. This means there will only be limited quantities of the iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black for walk-in customers who did not pre-order before the official launch date.
"We couldn’t be happier with the initial response to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we are looking forward to beginning sales through our retail stores and partners around the world."
"Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them."
Customers can still order all iPhone 7 models in any color through apple.com, but shipping times are listed as late as November for the jet black model. All other colors and models are listed as shipping in 2-3 weeks. Apple also noted that customers can check with other authorized retailers to see if they have any models in stock, but this is rarely the case.
The iPhone 7 is available for $649 for the 32GB model, $749 for the 128GB model and $849 for the new 256GB model. The new handset does not include a pair of Apple's new AirPods, instead it is packaged with Lightning-connected EarPods, the standard Lightning to USB Cable and Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. Apple's wireless AirPods will be available through apple.com and Apple retail stores staring in December.
