iOS Apps(s) of the Week: Ghostbusters, Salads and more

Salad Shake

There were a lot of new apps released to the App Store this week making it hard to pick just one App of the Week. We originally selected Salad Shake, but the healthy eating app was overshawdowed by big releases from Activision and Warner Bros.. Salad Shake is a simple app that is capable of generating billions of unique salad recipes. Users can use the app to randomly create salads from a database of 116 ingredients.

Salad Shake is really simple to use. Just choose how many ingredients you want in your salad, then shake your iPhone until the cat chef creates a new recipe for you. You can keep track of all the new ingredients you have unlocked, save your favorite salads and share them with your friends and family. Salad Shake is a fun way to come up with new ideas you would have never thought up on your own. It is available now on the App Store for $0.99.

iOS App of the Week: Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO

After setting the internet ablaze by releasing Pokémon GO to the New Zealand and Australian App Stores, Niantic's augmented reality game has quickly become the number one free download on iTunes, replacing NBA Live Mobile. The game is so popular it has even caused the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services in Australia to release this warning on Facebook:

"For those budding Pokemon Trainers out there using Pokemon Go - whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don't actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs."

iOS App of the Week: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Square Enix has released a lot of Final Fantasy games to the App Store, but up until now most of them have been remakes of the classic console titles. The latest Final Fantasy mobile release is a collaboration between Brave Frontier creator A-Lim and Square-Enix. Final Fantasy Brave Exvius was designed specifically for iOS and Android. It is also a freemium title, unlike the main Final Fantasy games, which are primarily premium releases. Brave Exvius was originally launched in Japan in 2015, but it has finally made its way to the US App Store.

iOS App of the Week: Teeny Titans

Teeny Ttians

It has been a big week for RPG fans, not only has Pocket Mortys been updated with new content, but Cartoon Network and Grumpyface Studios has released their own Pokémon clone, Teeny Titans. The new RPG takes place in the Teen Titans Go universe where everyone has gone crazy over collecting interactive DC action figures. The game is a spoof on the recent real world action figure craze started by Activision's Skylanders series. In the game you play as Robin, who is on a mission to collect all 70 of the availble DC figures. The game is played just like Pokémon where you can collect and build your own team to compete in 1-on-1 battles with other collectors.

iOS App(s) of the Week: Build Away, Heroes of Loot 2 and more

Build Away

There are more than 1.5 million apps available on the Apple App Store. Not only does the sheer amount of App Store options make it hard for developers to get their apps noticed, but Apple doesn't make it any easier for consumers to discover new apps with its confusing App Store interface. Today we are going to look at 5 apps, instead of one, to shed some light on the variety of noteworthy apps and games released this week.
