In early April Apple and Google announced a joint effort to "enable the use of Bluetooth technology to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus, with user privacy and security central to the design." The two part plan began rollout in May with phase one; phase two is currently underway.

Another way to track and view cases of COVID-19 in your local area has arrived free on the App Store. COVID Nearby can be launched on the iPhone or iPad to log coronavirus symptoms and test results. Privacy is guaranteed thanks to differential privacy, a method which keeps users anonymous and reports secure. The project has been developed at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey with support from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.

With the launch of AirPods Pro last fall, Apple made it clear the AirPods lineup has room to grow. Even the original AirPods design is in its second generation. Reports continue to surface that Apple is working hard behind the scenes to bring new features to the wireless earphones. While the next AirPods release date is unknown, leaks point to on-board health monitoring capabilities.

Your medical information is invaluable to emergency responders and can mean the difference between life and death. EMTs, doctors and nurses need to know things like what medications you might be allergic to, what medical conditions you have, what medications you are taking, what blood type you are and so on, so that they can provide the best treatment as quickly as possible. To this end, Apple has included the ability to automatically share your health information when you make an emergency call in iOS 13.5.
Both the CDC (Centers For Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO (World Health Organization) have apps on the Apple App Store.
The CDC app includes the most up to date health information from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.
