Gevey Ultra S Unlock is iOS 5.1.1 Compatible

While iOS 5.1.1 may have thrown jailbreakers a curveball, unlockers using the GEVEY Ultra S GSM with their GSM iPhone 4S will be happy to know it's safe to upgrade. According to online retailer ApplenBerry's Twitter feed, the GEVEY Ultra S GSM is compatible with iOS 5.1.1.

iOS 5.1.1

CDMA iPhone 4S or 4 models need to be jailbroken to use the Ultra 5.1 SIM interposer. There is no jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 currently, but the GEVEY Ultra S does support iOS 4.1 and later (through 5.1). iPhone owners should not update to iOS 5.1.1 if they would like to keep their devices jailbroken.

Is Walmart Dropping iPhone 4 and 4S Prices?

Cult of Mac has learned that a Walmart store in Edmond, Oklahoma has reduced the prices of the iPhone 4 and 4S AT&T models. The 8GB iPhone 4 on AT&T is now $34, and the white and black 16GB iPhone 4S on AT&T is now being offered for $114. The new prices only apply to AT&T upgrades and new activations. AT&T has not confirmed if this is a carrier sale or a Walmart only promotion. It's also unclear if all Walmart stores are participating. However, you may want to visit your local Walmart to see if these new prices are available in your area.

Why Does Siri Work for Samuel L Jackson but Not for Me?

The number one question I get asked about the iPhone 4S is... "How's Siri?" I never have a good answer, since I hate to deter people from buying the iPhone 4S because she can't comprehend my mumbling. Siri is great when she understands me, but due to my slight lisp and inability to talk clearly, we have a love-hate relationship. I can forget about asking Siri to "skip songs." Too many "ssss" sounds. I can handle asking Siri about the "weather" because it only requires one word. Too bad that I rarely care about the weather. I'm also embarrassed to talk to my iPhone like it's a person in public, especially when I normally have to ask two or three times.

Fake Siri iPhone 4S Commercial

Siri seems great for people who can talk clearly and want to use their iPhone while driving. If you have already pre-programmed their address into your contacts, asking for directions to your friend's house must be a cinch. Even if it's not that easy, at least you're in the comfort of your own car. Asking Siri for directions while walking down a crowded NYC or Philly sidewalk is awkward and never seems to work for me. Trying to keep up with the fast moving traffic of busy people while yelling "directions to so-and-so's house" at my phone seems hazardous to my health. And now, to make things even worse, Apple has made my Siri disability even more embarrassing by releasing two commercials starring Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel.

Second Person Sues Over Misleading Siri Commercials

Is Apple misleading customers by advertising a beta product on TV? Two different iPhone 4S owners think so. Frank Fazio filed the first California class action suit against Apple for "false and misleading" advertising, and now a second person has also filed a claim.

Siri icon class action lawsuit

According to the Los Angeles Times, David Jones filed a new suit in a U.S. District Court alleging "Apple disseminates false and deceptive representations regarding the functionality of the Siri feature."
