Hamsterdam could've easily been another boring button mashing fighting game, but it's slick controls, colorful art and cast of cute characters puts it above the rest. The game follows a hamster named Primm, who must harness the power of Hamster-fu to defeat the evil chinchilla Marlo and his Vermin Gang. Primm has inherited his powers from the peaceful Grandpa -- the former Hamster-fu master himself. Grandpa leads Primm on and adventure to save his town and rid it of all vermin.

iOS App of the Week: Hyper Light Drifter

Hyper Light Drifter

At first glance, Hyper Light Drifter looks like a pixel art version of The Legend of Zelda but a lot more stylish. It is a top down adventure game where you play as a Drifter, a kind of post-apocalyptic scavenger. It features a score composed by Disasterpeace, dreamy soundscapes and exciting combat that translates well to iOS devices. The game has received high praise since its release in 2016. The iOS version is a port of the original Nintendo Switch version with exclusive content and new areas.

More disability-themed emoji coming this fall

For World Emoji Day, Apple teased some of the emoji coming to iOS this fall. Apple proposed last year that the Unicode Consortium "introduce more disability-themed emoji," and they delivered, unveiling a new guide dog, an ear with a hearing aid, wheelchairs, a prosthetic arm and a prosthetic leg. Other categories, like smiley faces, food, animals, and activities, are also receiving updates
