The popular Xbox Live game Yet Another Zombie Defense is now available for the iPhone, iPod and iPad. Even better, it's being offered half off its normal $1.99 price for a limited time. Yet Another Zombie Defense is a tower defense and dual-stick shooter game where you must survive waves of zombies by barricading yourself in before nightfall. You can buy various weapons to mount onto auto turrets and set up defensive barricades to try and survive the night. The game also offers 16 achievements, and leaderboard support.

The dual-stick controls can be a little annoying on the iPhone or iPod, and having to restart every time you die is very annoying. However, I think most strategy / defense fans will enjoy this game, especially on the iPad (or maybe the iPhone 5's larger screen). The only game I can compare it to is The Last Stand 2, but I think Last Stand is better. You can download the Yet Another Zombie Defense Lite for free before investing the $0.99. But makeup your mind quickly because it won't be $1 forever!

The iOS app dock keeps four icons at the bottom of the home screen at all times. This provides easy access to your most frequently used apps. InfiniDock, another great jailbreak tweak from chpwn, expands the capabilities of the iOS dock, making it possible to add more apps to the dock and scroll through them left to right.

There are several options available to make InfiniDock behave in different ways. For one, you can add many extra icons to the dock. Although this won't appeal to everyone, up to 10 app icons can be displayed on the dock at once. Another way to increase the number of icons is to simply add icons to the dock without changing the number displayed from four.

Tweaks like NCSettings and Auxo are great because they provide quick access to a variety of toggles on the iPhone. One of these is the flashlight toggle, which easily turns on and off the LED flash on the back of the device. Thing is, with both of these methods you're still fumbling around in the dark preforming several steps to get to the flash toggle before you can even turn it on.

With the free tweak SpringFlash, you can assign any Activator action to the flash, making your iPhone a flashlight on demand. Once installed, SpringFlash defaults to using a double-press of the sleep/wake button as a flashlight on/off switch.

One of the strengths of the iPhone display is its brightness. This is great during the day, when you want to be able to see the screen as easily as possible. Night time is a different story. We've all seen smartphone users' faces illuminated in a bright, blue glow at night. Not only does it look strange, but this light can actually interfere with the body falling asleep.

The developers of f.lux have a different idea, iPhone display lighting colors that actually match the time of day. They have released similar software for desktop computers, which automatically adjusts the color of your display. F.lux is smart enough to know when sunset occurs based on your location, so your iPhone adjusts without intervention.

Facebook has been working hard on its iOS app, with several updates launching recently. The latest free update hit the App Store on February 22. Most visible are new sharing buttons, which are simpler to use and provide an easier way to like, share and comment.

Free in-app calling is now officially a part of the Facebook app for iOS, making it possible to call your friends in the US and Canada without using voice plan minutes. The feature will of course use up some of your data plan as these calls are placed over the Internet.
