A new jailbreak-like app has snuck its way into the Apple App Store. Bluetooth OnOff allows you to activate or deactivate your bluetooth just by launching the app. This is much better than having to go to Settings/General/Bluetooth/Toggle to switch your bluetooth on and off. However, the app does access iOS settings which is a violation of Apple's app guidelines. This means it will probably be pulled.

You can download the app for $0.99 in the iTunes App Store while it's still available. Bluetooth OnOff is compatible with the iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 4.1 or later.

Things have been pretty quiet on the jailbreak front since the launch of the iPad 3. Today Absinthe and Corona developer pod2g broke the silence on his Twitter feed. Pod2g tweeted that he has acquired all the exploits needed to jailbreak iOS 5.1. While it's good to know that our favorite iPhone hackers are closer to a solution, fellow DevTeam member Chpwn reminded everyone that even though "all the exploits are found, this doesn't mean that a jailbreak exists," and it could be months away from a public release.

In February, iOS hacker i0n1c posted a few pictures of a jailbroken iPad 2 running iOS 5.1. The DevTeam also wrote on their blog that someone "close to the Cydia repo scene" was working on an entirely new jailbreak method.

ETNews.com doesn't have a perfect track record when it comes to Apple predictions, but they have dusted off a previous iPhone 5 rumor started by the Business Insider in November of last year. According to the Korean publication, Apple is using “liquid metal” technology to build their next-generation iPhone. Apple acquired this technology from Liquidmetal Technologies’ in August of 2010.

"According to industry sources, the next flagship phones of the companies are expected to adopt unprecedented materials for their main bodies, that is, ceramic for the Galaxy S3 and liquid metal for iPhone 5, both being thin, light and highly resistant to external impacts. The new phase of the rivalry is because neither one of them can get a decisive edge over the other solely with its OS and AP specifications, features or design."

Another prank app has hit the Cydia app store. Anonysend allows you to annoy your family and friends by sending fake semi-anonymous emails. I said "semi" anonymous because the emails are logged with your IP address. Meaning you shouldn't use it to prank your boss or harass an ex-girlfriend because it can be traced back to you. This app is for fun. It's not for abusing people you do not like.

The application is easy to use if you have a jailbroken iPhone: Just fill in a fake sender name, fake sender email, email of the person you want to prank, add a subject and hit send. Unlike the SpoofApp that allows you to fake your caller ID and voice, Anonysend is free to download and use.

A new version of WinterBoard has arrived in the Cydia jailbreak app store. For those who are fans of installing all kinds of fresh graphical themes on iOS devices, the update is a welcome improvement that was in the works for a while. Others who fear installing WinterBoard due to its buggy reputation might consider trying out the latest version.

WinterBoard makes it possible for artists to create new graphics for almost anything in iOS, including third party apps. Users can download and install a variety of themes and mods to change the look of iOS once the device is jailbroken. There are also apps available on Cydia that are dependent on a WinterBoard installation.
