Adobe Lightroom has long provided iOS users with the ability to edit professional-quality images directly on the iPhone. The latest update brings new features designed to take advantage of iOS 10 and even more so the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Hot off the presses, Lightroom 2.5.2 adds RAW capture support from directly within the app.

Every year Apple packs camera improvements into its new iPhone models, and this fall will be no different. The iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus have so far retained a monopoly on optical image stabilization (OIS), with the technology not making it to the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 or 6s. RAW photo capture and editing is possible with iOS 10 or later.
Developers have access to RAW image capture in iOS 10, which can save a RAW (DNG) file along with a paired JPG to the Photos app. On older versions of iOS, apps could only edit RAW images imported from other sources.
