Will a T-Mobile SIM card work in my iPhone? They are both GSM/EDGE.
Out of the box, the GSM version of the Apple iPhone (up to the iPhone 4) and the iPhone 4S will only work on Apple approved GSM providers (i.e. AT&T).
T-Mobile SIM cards can be used in an iPhone that has been jailbroken and unlocked via third party software. There are a variety of commercial and non-commercial software options available which unlock the iPhone.
Though unlocking has become very common for users that do not want to be tied to a particular carrier or bound by a contract, users should understand that unlocking is performed 'at your own risk'.

I have a iphone 16 GB i stuck a ear ring in the pin hole at the top and a sim card just poped out.
So you cant tell me that a IPHONE from apple and i have AT&T does not have a SIM CARD. Because it does. i know this because i looked and it opened and poped out. i saw it and looked at it for a min. or so . It is for sure a sim card yes it is 4-sure ... Julie

You can take the sim card out all day long, but you are not saying that the T-Mobile sim card will work in the iPhone after making phone calls, sending text messgaes, picture messages and checking voicemail. If someone can prove that on video without buying special software, I will buy it now.

Thats a great idea!!! I just tried it cuz I have both an Iphone and a Tmobile phone. I switched the SIM cards and BOTH MY PHONES WORK!!! The Iphone put up a message saying "different SIM card detected. Connect to itunes" But the the message went away, and my iphone said "T-Mobile" up at the top! SO THERE YOU ALL GO! IT WORKS!! I

Iphone is Hacked you can put in ANY "GSM" SIM card in it anywhere in the world. I have a Bell carrier here in Canada (CDMA.) But using my sister's Fido SIM card I was able to make and receive calls without any problems. But this is an unlocked Iphone, the one that comes in the original packaging wont work.

with reference TO THAT, i JUST BOUGHT A IPHONE FROM EBAY, WELL ITS A I9, AND IT SAYS:
Quadband: GSM850/900/1800/1900MHZ (Which Means it can be used worldwide in all GSM network apart from 3G sim card)

Okay, I read all of these messages. I too have T-Moible and would like to have an iPhone. I see on eBay there are many unlocked iPhone units for sale. Does this mean that they will work with a T-Moible chip?
