What Bluetooth profiles does the iPhone support?
The iPhone, at this time, supports only two of the 27 existing Bluetooth profiles.
Currently supported are:
Hands-Free Profile (HFP)
Headset Profile (HSP)
The hope is that support for other profiles will become available as future updates come to the iPhone. This list will be updated as that occurs.

Doesn't the iphone now support the AD2P profile too? I read it was introduced with fw 1.1.1

It didn't on Jan 9th when you posted but it does now with the 3.0 that come out this week.

Just to confirm, the iPhone DOES support AD2P with the 3.0 software update. I own the LG HBS-200 stereo headset and I can listen to music flawlessly right up to the 10m range limit of the headphones.
However, according to this article on the apple website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 , the iPhone supports both the AD2P and AVRCP profile but playback controls did not work with my LG headset. To clarify, it plays music, however the play/pause and next/previous track buttons do not do anything.
