Regardless of some unscrupulous websites out there, Dev-Team reminds us that jailbreak solutions for iPhone firmware version 3.1.3 on new devices like the iPod Touch 3G don't exist! Unlock solutions for baseband version 05.12 do not exist! Scam sites will take your money and give you older software that was already released for free.
Unlocking and jailbreaking software is always released free of charge. Currently baseband 05.11 can't even be unlocked on iPhone OS 3.1.3. If you upgraded your firmware using the official Apple 3.1.3 software you'll just have to be patient while the Dev-Team finds a way.
Progress has already been made, as Dev-Team commenter sherif_hashim has discovered a promising crash in the new baseband. The Dev-Team is looking into it and could possibly come up with a working unlock solution. Right now there's no telling how long it might take.
Scam sites are counting on iPhone users stuck without a jailbreak to be impatient and spend a few bucks on nothing. Don't be fooled!

So is the dev team actively working on a jb or are they waiting for 3.2 or 4.o to be released? I thought the latter. One way to keep people from being ripped off would be to release a jb for 3.1.3. But then what do I know.

From what I've heard, no one of repute is actively working on a 3.1.3 jb. Plans are to wait for OS 4.0.

there seems to be a little bit a misinformation when talking of jailbreaking(JB) and unlocking(UL)the iphone. the current 3.1.3 OS and 05.12.01 baseband can not be unlocked but it can be jailbroken. look for Spirit software and it will JB it. i did it and it works fine.
now to UL you will have to wait. there is no current baseband hack for 05.12.01. meaning you wont be able to use any other SIM carriers like T-mobile. basically all you can have at the moment is and iphone turned into an ipod. hope this helps.
if they tell you that you can downgrade your baseband to 04.26 with the fuzzy app that you download from Cydia it is a lie. it does not work and it is a lie. i tried and it did not work.
hope this helps

fuzzyband DOES work but only on the first 3g that came out with bootloader 5.8. You can check if yours has 5.8 by going to ih8sn0w.com (note the eight and the zero instead of 'o') and run forcast and it will tell you what boot loader you have. I unlock commercially and have only ever seen 2 5.8 bootloaders out of the 200 iphones I have unlocked.

Well we are desperate, we are following every clue on the web. Dev-Team does not help a lot with not giving any information if they are even going to find solution.

Yeah iphoneundo are big time scammers they not only used old software that doesn't work but they even duplicated another unlocking website so they looked more professional. I believe they have just been taken offline thankfully but i'm sure they will turn up again
