If you have been waiting for a dynamic Weather app icon for eons and wondering why Apple has never done it, especially since they just came out with an updating Clock icon for iOS 7, your wait is over. Developer Hamza Sood, who is known for his SiriToggles package, beat Apple to it with the aptly named LiveWeatherIcon tweak. Although it is only a minor detail it is yet another layer of customization that adds depth to the overall user experience.
If you are jailbroken and tired of the old, boring, static Weather app icon, you might want to give the LiveWeatherIcon tweak a try. The tweak brings life to the Weather app by animating the icon to reflect the current weather conditions - stormy weather outside translates to a stormy icon and so on. It continuously updates so it
is always showing real-time conditions, and also adds an overlay to the icon, showing the temperature and a short text description of the weather conditions.
LiveWeatherIcon is available in Cydia's BigBoss repository. It requires iOS 7 or later and will run on an iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c or iPhone 5s. It is not free however, and will set you back a dollar if you think it's worth it.
