Capcom today has released two arcade classics to the Apple App Store. First is the popular airplane shooter 1942. The vertical scroller was first released to the arcade in 1984. In the game players control a plane called the "Super Ace" during World War II. The goal of the game is to mow down the opposing army as you roll and loop to avoid enemy fire.
The mobile version features all the classic arcade action of the original with new touch-screen controls, global leaderboards and achievements. 1942 is available now on the App Store for $1.99. It supports all devices running iOS 8.0 or later.
The second Capcom title released today to the App Store is Ghosts'n Goblins. The popular side scrolling action platformer is Capcom's 8th best selling game franchise, according to Wikipedia. In the game players control Sir Arthur as he battles his way through various undead enemies to rescue the princess Prin-Prin. Players can equip Sir Arthur with better weapons and armor as they try to master one of the most difficult games in video game history.
Ghosts'n Goblins is available now for only $0.99. It supports all devices running iOS 8.0 or later.
Since both 1942 and Ghosts'n Goblins are known for their traditional high level of difficulty Capcom has added a “Casual mode" to both titles. The Casual mode offers an adjusted game play experience for beginners. Both titles also include a "Classic mode" featuring the original arcade specifications.
