Now that Siri can recognize third-party music apps on the HomePod, users of other services can easily play content from sources other than Apple Music. For example, playing a song on Pandora is simple as adding the words "on Pandora" to the end of your request. But how can one change the default music service on HomePod?

Pandora fans can now use their favorite music service on the HomePod and HomePod mini. Support for Apple's smart speakers has arrived, with Siri recognizing voice requests to play tracks from Pandora's music library. iOS 14 has made it possible to use third-party apps for many services on the iPhone, iPad, and HomePod.

Apple is reportedly discussing whether to allow the HomePod to directly stream third-party music services such as Spotify or Pandora. Currently Apple Music is the default streaming service. Playlists from other services can only be opened by connecting to the HomePod via AirPlay.
Any music labeled "E" (for explicit language) can easily be blocked in your Pandora Settings. To do so, tap on the Profile tab in the bottom right, then tap on Settings (the gear icon at top right). Tap on Account, then toggle off "Allow explicit content."

Music lovers have a new option for streaming tracks on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Pandora Premium is rolling out to all users, which means it can be added via the Pandora iOS app. The monthly subscription service offers on-demand listening features beyond the lower tier of Pandora Plus and the company's free radio. Beyond creating personalized radio stations that are ad-supported, Pandora Premium represents more competition for rivals Apple Music and Spotify.
