A report released by IDC shows increasing growth in the wearable devices market, with Apple taking the lead in 2017. IDC estimates that Apple sold eight million Apple Watch units during the last quarter of the year, catapulting the device to top selling status in the wearables segment.

The Apple Watch already features a built-in heart rate monitor, however Apple is poised to improve this technology with an on-board electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG). Such a sensor would provide more detailed information regarding the electrical activity of the wearer's heart, potentially warning of irregular heart rates.
When the Apple Watch displays a red lightning bolt, battery life is critically low. The watch has automatically entered Power Reserve mode, and the device can only show the time.

While it is already possible to create watch faces from your photos for your Apple Watch, iOS 11 makes the process much easier with a new function in the share sheet. The third-generation Apple Watch will be released alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone Edition in September. This is according to several reports from the supply chain including mention of Quanta Computer, an Apple Watch manufacturer. Not only this, but several updates and improvements are expected in Apple's next generation wearable.
