Siri Alternatives for iPhone 4 / iPhone 3GS Owners

For those iPhone owners who haven't made the jump to the iPhone 4S, you may be wondering how you can get access to the most hyped iOS 5 feature around: the Siri personal assistant. Siri may bring voice commands and interaction with your smartphone to a whole new level, but Apple has limited the feature to its latest hardware. Even though developers have ported Siri to run on the iPhone 4, the software will not communicate with Apple's servers unless it's on the iPhone 4S.

The original Siri app, formerly available on the App Store to both iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users is now defunct. Not only has it been pulled from the store, but if you have it installed on your iPhone the software no longer works. So what is an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS user to do? Apple Sends Out iPhone 5 Invitations For October 4th

The wait is almost over! Apple sent out invites to select media outlets for their big event on October 4. The invitation featured four iOS icons of a clock, the date, a phone and a map with the tagline "Let's talk iPhone." Sprint should be announced as the newest U.S. iPhone carrier, and Facebook is also supposed to launch their new iPad app at the event. At least we know this will put an end to all the wild speculation and internet rumors.

Apple Says Goodbye To 'Jew or Not Jew' App After Lawsuit Threat

Guess the Jew was a game made popular by shock jock Howard Stern in the 80s, but a French anti-racism group didn't find it funny when a French version of it appeared in the Apple app store. The app entitled "Juif ou pas Juif?" was selling for 0.79 euro cents ($1.08) in France until Apple pulled the plug after complaints. The group SOS Racisme argued that the app, which allowed users to determine if a list of celebrities were Jewish or not, violated a French law that outlaws compiling of people's personal details.

Juif ou pas Juif

App developer Johann Levy told the Le Parisien newspaper that he's not a spokesman for "all Jews" and he meant for the game to be "recreational."

"As a Jew myself I know that in our community we often ask whether a such-and-such celebrity is Jewish or not," Levy said ."For me, there's nothing pejorative about saying that someone is Jewish or not. On the contrary, it's about being proud."
