Pioneer is set to bring a touch-screen car receiver to market that will integrate seamlessly with your iPhone or iPod touch. This either sounds like a great idea or the most distracting in-dash system ever manufactured. The AppRadio features a 6.1-inch 800 x 640 pixel resolution multi-touch display, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and an AM/FM radio. The real magic happens when you plug in your iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4th generation and start the vehicle.

Apps that have been modified to display on the AppRadio can be used directly on the Pioneer unit. Initial partnerships with app developers include Inrix Traffic, Motion-X GPS Drive, and Pandora and Rdio streaming music apps. More are sure to come on board, as the modifications required for an app to run on the AppRadio are relatively minor.

The Super 8 iPhone app converts your iOS device into a retro film camera without all the trouble of film developing, light leaks and mechanical malfunction. The app even features a projection room, where you can pull down a screen and watch your edited creations.

Super 8 is free for a limited time, and is part of a promotion for the real-life movie directed by J.J. Abrams titled Super 8, which will be released by Paramount Pictures on June 10. As you play back your films in the projection room the app ties into the movie by revealing missing frames which can be collected to unlock clips on S8editingroom.com. When it comes to the recording capabilities of Super 8, the app is a full-featured retro film machine.

Weather radios can save lives by warning people that dangerous storms are on the way. The iMapWeather Radio iPhone app takes this concept a step further by feeding real-time weather warning information for your exact location directly to your device. The developer, Weather Decision Technologies, is having a one-day sale on Thursday, May 19 and offering the app for free.

The first 100,000 people to download the app can take advantage of the promotion, after that the price will jump back up to $9.99. The sale will be on for 24 hours starting at midnight EDT. The app is compatible with Apple devices running iOS 4.0 or later and available on iTunes. So why should you download this weather radio app?

As expected, Rovio has released 15 new levels for Angry Birds Seasons to commemorate the arrival of spring and the Easter holiday. Version 1.4.0 for iPhone features pigs with bunny ears and plenty of Easter eggs. There are also bonus levels that can be unlocked by liking the game on Facebook from directly within the app.

The update is free for those who already own Angry Birds Seasons, but if you haven't joined the fun yet it's only $0.99 for all of the holiday levels ($1.99 on the iPad). Previous releases include Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's themed levels with the same basic game that Angry Birds fans have become accustomed to playing. Rovio continues to expand the Angry Birds franchise with new software on the horizon.
