Mortal Kombat X Launches One Week Early for iOS Devices

Mortal Kombat X has popped up on the App Store one week before its official release. The mobile version is not a port of the console and PC game. Instead it is more like Injustice: Gods Among Us where players can unlock and collect classic Mortal Kombat fighters such as Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Sonya and more.

Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X for iOS allows you to build your own roster of fighters for 3v3 combat. Players can challenge other players in online battles called Faction Wars and work their way up the leaderboards while unlocking new special attacks and artifacts. The game also features Mortal Kombat's trademark Fatalities and X-Rays, the ability to form alliances with other players who can help you in combat and weekly prizes.

BioShock, Civilization Revolution 2 and More on Sale on the App Store

2K Games is currently holding a spring sale for some of its top premium games on the Apple App Store. The normally $10 BioShock is now only $2.99. The first-person shooter was ported to the iPhone and iPad with touch-screen gamepad controls in 2014. The iOS version is the same complete version as the original Xbox 360 release. The game supports the iPhone 5s and later running iOS 7.1 or later, the original and second-generation iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad mini 2 and 3. BioShock also includes third-party controller support.

BioShock

You are a cast-away in Rapture, an underwater Utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces, and hunted down by genetically modified “splicers” and deadly security systems, you have to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology and fascinating characters. No encounter ever plays out the same, and no two gamers will play the game the same way.

Nintendo Teams Up with DeNA to Release Mobile Games

After dipping its toes in the mobile game waters by releasing Pokémon TCG Online to the iPad, Nintendo has decided to team up with the Japanese game developer DeNA to release more games to "smart devices." Nintendo will create new titles instead of porting existing content over to smarthphones and tablets.

Nintendo Mobile

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said that talks about bringing its characters to mobile devices began 2010, but things were not finalized until last year. This is a stark contrast to an interview he did in 2011 with the Japanese news site Nikkei, when he stated that NIntendo would never consider making games for mobile devices. Iwata believed that mobile games would only bring temporary gain and not help sustain NIntendo's core business model of selling home game consoles, but he has since changed his tune. Iwata now thinks mobile titles will work as a "bridge” to help people buy more physical Nintendo products.
