Less Addictive Version of Flappy Bird Ready to Take Back the App Store in August

Here's some bad news for anyone who spent thousands of dollars on Flappy BIrd. The games creator Dong Nguyen announced that it will return in August. Nguyen told CNBC's Kelly Evans that the game will be "less addictive" and feature a multiplayer option.

Flappy Bird was one of the biggest mobile app phenomenons of the year. The simplistic game inexplicably became one of the most talked about and downloaded apps on the Apple App Store before being mysteriously removed by its creator because it was "too addictive". The game was reportedly earning over $50,000 in daily ad revenue before Nguyen pulled the plug. Both the Apple App Store and Google Play were soon flooded by Flappy Bird clones from developers trying to recreate its success.

Infinity Blade II Drops to $0.99 for a Limited Time

Looking to play the highly-acclaimed Infinity Blade sequel without spending $6.99? Chair Entertainment Group has reduced pricing on Infinity Blade II by six bucks, bringing the cost down to $0.99 for a limited time. This is a serious deal, considering that the quality of the game blows away many iPhone and iPad titles available at this price point.

Infinity Blade II is a universal app, compatible with any Apple smartphone or tablet running iOS 4.3 or later. The deal is clearly posted on the Infinity Blade II landing page on iTunes. The description states, "Get it while you can!" without listing an end date for the ongoing sale.

New iOS Apps, Games and JB Tweaks of the Week: Walking Dead, Adobe Voice and More...

This week's big news came from Telltale Games who announced that the Walking Dead: The Game - Season 2, Episode 3 titled "In Harm's Way" will be available next week. The PC and Mac versions will land on May 13, followed by the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions on May 14, and finally the iOS version will hit the App Store on May 15.

Here are this week's App Store and Cydia releases for 05/04/14 to 05/10/14. Apple's Free App of the Week is Zynga’s endless runner Stampede Run. It will be free on the App Store until 05/15/14. Bardbarian is also free on the App Store this week.

Five Baseball Games for the iPhone and iPad

Both the NBA and NHL seasons are winding down and football doesn't begin until September 1st. This means two things, a lot of sports fans are turning their attention to baseball, and a lot of baseball games are being released for mobile devices. Here are three new and two classic baseball titles currently available for iOS devices.

iPhone Baseball Games

MLB Perfect Inning (Free for all devices running iOS 5.1 or later) - This is the newest iOS game fully-licensed by Major League Baseball. Perfect Inning is a simulation game that allows you to draft and train players to compete in a full- or post-season games. Basically you act as the coach deciding on your lineup, tactics and so on. You can let the AI control your team, play only at crucial moments, play offense only or complete an entire match yourself. The game features 30 MLB teams and a roster of 215 players modeled after their real life counterparts.

Toy Rush and Anno Announced for iOS Devices

Uber Entertainment (Super Monday Night Combat) in partnership with Tilting Point has announced that Toy Rush will be available for iOS devices on May 15th. The new title mixes the popular tower defense and collectible card game genres. In the game, players can attack their opponent with powerful toys like flying unicorns while defending their base with marble shooters and other weird towers. The game will feature over 50 levels and the ability to customize your base and defenses by earning and opening new card packs. Pricing is unknown at this time.

Toy Rush

Ubisoft announced on Tuesday that it is bringing the 1998 PC game Anno to the iPad. Anno is a resource management title where players must build their empire from the ground up. Users can build specific buildings, such as houses and taverns, to keep their citizens happy and healthy. The iPad version is being rebuilt for mobile devices and will be officially called Anno: Build an Empire.
