App Store developer Adam Bell has released a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to customize the way you unlock your iPhone. Stride replaces your password screen with a customizable gesture system allowing you to do away with lengthy passwords. Or it can double as an extra security measure by allowing you to use a gesture and password to access your iPhone.

"Even though Stride is pretty secure on it's own, for best effect you should set a PIN/Passcode to make things extra secure," Bell explained on Cydia. The PIN unlock will appear after you draw your customized gesture, or you can bypass the PIN code in the Stride preference panel. Stride is available in the Big Boss repo for $2.99. It's compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, but not the iPad. Stride requires iOS 5 or higher and a jailbroken device to work.

If you're tired of hunting for lost remote controls, or just have too many cluttering up the house, the VooMote Zapper may be what you're looking for. The iPhone accessory and app turns your iOS device into a universal remote eliminating the need for batteries and multiple remote controls.

Universal iPhone remotes are not a new idea, but the makers of VooMote promise you will love their easy setup wizard and “Teach-In” feature. The VooMote app allows you create room "bundles" so you can easily separate the Blu-ray player in your living room, from the one in your bedroom. You can even substitute buttons for normal IOS swiping gestures.

The iOS accessory company 60beat has released a new gaming controller for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The $50 GamePad allows you to use a physical controller instead of the annoying onscreen controls of iOS games. Unfortunately it only works with two titles (Bugdom 2 and Aftermath) right now, but I assume there will be more GamePad compatible games in the future.

The GamePad is a great accessory if you enjoy playing games on your iPad at home, but I doubt anyone is going to want to lug this thing around. It resembles a PS3 controller with dual analog joysticks and 8 action buttons. There is no Bluetooth wireless option. The GamePad connects to your headphone jack with a 4 foot long cable. That's a lot to take on the bus, but maybe not such a bad idea for kids on long car rides. Especially since it doesn't require any batteries.
