Apple has announced that iOS firmware versions later than 4.2.1 will not be supported on the iPhone 3G hardware.

currently the apple has announced that the iphone 3g is not capable of working on firmware 4.3,so the latest firmware you can install is the iOS4.2.

i have old version iphone 3G
i updated that to iOS 4.2.1 but lot of apps. i can't downloads
my facebook apps also gone...
now when i try to download that the noticed said its not compatiable... or need 4.3 or above version so is there any possibality to update my problems???

It appears that Apple has had all their vendors drop support for 4.2 and like the good little andriods (pun intended) they are, they turned their backsides on 3G users. (I have a feeling it was eigher drop 4.2 or be kicjed out of the store.
So if you want to stay a Jedi, it's time to tithe to the Big Apple in the sky and BUY ANOTHER OVERPRICED IPHONE. Like all greedy businessmen, Apple tempers all their goodness and rightousness by their lust for more and more bloody dollars.

If Apple is still continuing THIS ISSUE., I would still continue using this iPhone 3G.. i don't care about the apps that are running on iOS 4.3. as long as i can listen to music, making texts, and calls.. And also, I have GUN CLUB 2 running on iOS 4.2 .. :3

Have you solved your problem? My iPjhone 3GS was shut down and cannt retore back and can use after I tried to install ALP. to my surprise iPhone shutdown & cant swee on can you guide me how to install the software so that I can use my iPhone 3S?

no need to get angry its a piece of cake once you download the firmware file you have to put that in the redsnow,after that the jailbreak will start,any other questions,feel free to ask.though i am not the admin but i might be able to help solve your problem
