When it comes to tracks playing on the iPhone, the lock screen album art has been a favorite target of the jailbreak community. Tweaks such as Spin can bring a completely new, unique look to the now playing album art. Now a stand alone tweak dubbed CustomCover provides theming options for album art on the iOS 7 lock screen.
Lock screen media artwork will never be the same once CustomCover is installed from Cydia on a jailbroken device. WinterBoard is not required for the tweak to operate. Navigating to Settings -> CustomCover -> Theme reveals eight built-in options that change the look of the lock screen album art immediately.
Blank removes all album art, while Default shows the normal iOS 7 design. Other options include CD Case, Circle, Clean, Ripped, Vinyl and Vinyl mini. Additional options are available to customize the look. For example, media controls can be hidden on the lock screen or the background blur can be disabled. Additionally, there's an option under Settings -> CustomCover -> Other Settings to use the media artwork as wallpaper.
Overall, CustomCover is a straightforward tweak that provides additional customization to the lock screen. While the changes are purely cosmetic, the new designs are slick and are applied to the iOS 7 lock screen without a respring or reboot.
CustomCover is available from Cydia on the ModMyi repository for $0.99. Check here for instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 7.x with evasi0n 7. You can also find out how to purchase and install Cydia tweaks with this guide.
