If you have ever been added to a Facebook Messenger conversation, especially one that involves many people, you know how quickly it can get annoying. When your iPhone is constantly notifying you that somebody in the conversation has messaged, you probably want to at least mute it; if it's a conversation you no longer care about anyway, it might be time to leave the chat for good. While Facebook often makes tasks like this difficult, muting or leaving a group conversation is pretty easy, here's how to do it:
- Open up your Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone or iPad and tap on the conversation you want to leave.
- Tap on the title of the conversation at the top to bring up more options. If the conversation hasn't been named you will just see the names of people involved.
- If you just want to mute the conversation, tap on Notifications, then choose how long you want it to be muted for.
- If you want to leave the conversation for good, scroll down until you see "Leave Group" and tap on it. Verify that you want to leave and that's it, you're out.
