Why are some of my iPhone text messages green and some blue?

You may have noticed that some of your iPhone text messages have either a blue or green background.

A blue background means that the message exchange is happening via iMessage with another iOS device (an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, etc). These messages are sent through your cellular provider's data network or via WiFi (no cell service needed), and text message rates don't apply

Why does it say my email was "rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying" when I try to send it?

If you try to send an email from your iPhone on iOS 8, or an earlier iOS for that matter, and get an error message that says "A copy has been placed in your outbox. The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying," chances are you need to check your outgoing mail server settings. Here's how:

1. Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar and tap on your email account.

2. Tap on "Account," then go down to the "Outgoing Mail Server" section and tap on "SMTP."

3. Tap on your Primary Server.
