Add a Custom iOS 7 Boot Sound to the iPhone

One of the more attention grabbing iPhone tweaks is a custom boot sound that plays every time the device is turned on, rebooted or after a respring. iOS 7 users with jailbroken devices can grab BootSound for free, and choose from a selection of OS boot sounds. A personalized sound file can also be played.

Once installed from Cydia, BootSound can be accessed under Settings -> BootSound. Default OS boot sounds included with the free tweak are MacOS, Ubuntu, Vista and WinXP. There's also a switch to disable the tweak entirely. Once the boot sound is selected tap the Respring button to enable the change. You will hear the sound when the lock screen appears after starting the iPhone.

Lock App Icons on the iOS 7 Home Screen

Looking for a way to keep iOS app icons in their place on the home screen? The jailbreak tweak IconLock7 updates this tool for iOS 7, making it easy to prevent unauthorized app deletions or movement of app icons on the iPhone. These actions are verified with a password, supplied to IconLock7 before the tweak allows apps to start wiggling.

Once IconLock7 is installed from Cydia, simply hold down on a home screen app icon to enter a password. This will be required moving forward for any app layout adjustment or app deletion. The password can be changed later from Settings -> IconLock7 -> Change Password. Of course, to access the tweak's settings the current password must be entered first.

Bring WebOS to the iPhone App Switcher

While new WebOS products are now limited to LG smart televisions, there are certainly some Palm fans who have migrated to iOS 7. Both of you can now enjoy a WebOS inspired slingshot effect on the iPhone app switcher. The jailbreak tweak Springshot takes one element of WebOS card multitasking and brings it to compatible Apple devices.

Typically, dismissing an app requires a swipe from bottom to top. The app card will fly off the top of the iPhone display, signaling that the app is closed. Once Springshot is installed, users have the option of pulling down on an app card. Much like WebOS, the app will then rebound and slingshot off the top of the screen.

Change Your Icons' Appearance Individually with Athena 2 Tweak

After optimizing efficiency, one of the major reasons that people jailbreak their iPhones for is to tweak the aesthetics of the interface and make their phone unique in appearance. The new and improved jailbreak tweak Athena 2 is a powerful tool to this end. There are a lot of tweaks out there that let you modify the overall appearance of your interface; this one lets you do that, but also lets you customize the individual icons.

Use ProximityCam to Eliminate Camera Shake from your iPhone's Photos

You don't need to be a photography expert to know that camera shake can ruin a photo. Avoiding camera shake can be difficult, whether trying to capture intricate detail in artwork or simply trying to capture an image of text that isn't too blurry to read later. The iPhone is small enough and light enough that just a slight push on the volume button or even the virtual shutter button can ruin a photo. The new jailbreak tweak ProximityCam, from developer PoomSmart, offers a practical solution to the problem.

ProximityCam jailbreak tweak

ProximityCam allows you to use the iPhone's proximity sensor (the sensor that turns the screen off when you hold it up to your ear in order to save power and avoid inadvertent input) to take photographs. With ProximityCam installed you simply wave your finger in front of the sensor to take a picture with the Camera app. This
