Last year's workout was designed to mark the 100th anniversary of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. This year, users are asked to earn awards on August 30th by hiking, walking, riding, or running a mile or more. The activity can be logged by any app that adds workouts to Health.

By default, anyone can reply to a tweet. The new settings change this, making it possible for a user to limit who can reply. The new conversation settings have undergone testing for months and may soon come to the entire user population.

Another way to track and view cases of COVID-19 in your local area has arrived free on the App Store. COVID Nearby can be launched on the iPhone or iPad to log coronavirus symptoms and test results. Privacy is guaranteed thanks to differential privacy, a method which keeps users anonymous and reports secure. The project has been developed at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey with support from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.

Apple looks to have a busy fall release schedule if the latest reports from around the Asian supply chain are true. Leaks point to a delay in the normal September launch of next generation iPhones, with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro shipping in October instead. The global pandemic continues to affect supply chains and has postponed Apple's fall plans. However, the company is still expected to have its annual keynote event in early September to reveal new products.
