Imagine a scenario where your iPhone battery is running low, and there's not a charger in sight. But in your back pocket is an extra battery. With a quick pull, the empty battery pops off the iPhone, and the fully charged backup snaps onto the device. Boot up iOS and you're back in business. Not long ago, most cellular phones came with fully removable batteries.

Apple is reportedly discussing whether to allow the HomePod to directly stream third-party music services such as Spotify or Pandora. Currently Apple Music is the default streaming service. Playlists from other services can only be opened by connecting to the HomePod via AirPlay.

I'm not a fan of iPhone cases, not until I finally broke a phone after going caseless since the iPhone 4s. After paying to repair my device I finally caved and purchased a screen protector. I didn't go full case because I hate bulky stuff in my pocket, and no matter how thin a case may be, it adds mass to your phone. There may be another streaming war over the horizon, but instead of movies and television, service providers such as Spotify are looking to scoop up popular podcasts. While Apple has typically stayed away from creating its own podcasts, the two companies may be looking to acquire third party creators to entice more listeners to subscribe to their music streaming services. According to The Wall Street Journal, Spotify's first big move will be to purchase the Ringer, a network of sports and pop culture podcasts headed by ex-ESPN analyst Bill Simmons.
