Make Sure iPhone Messages go to the Right Person

Sending out texts and iMessages to the wrong people can be a headache in the making. It always helps to double check who is going to receive a particular message. Jailbreak developer Alexandru Laurus had the same idea, and released the tweak DoubleCheck for this purpose.

iOS 8.1 jailbreak DoubleCheck

By default the Messages app in iOS 8 puts the words "iMessage" or "Text Message" in a blank text field, to let the user know what method is being used. Once DoubleCheck is installed, the name of the recipient or group is added to the messaging method. No need to check the top of the screen, the name appears right above the keyboard.

Add the Apple Pay Animation to the Lock Screen

The jailbreak tweak LockGlyph combines two Touch ID features into one to increase eye appeal on the lock screen. Once installed, LockGlyph adds the Apple Pay animation and sound effect to Touch ID authentication when unlocking iOS 8.

Simply tap the home button on the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and a stylized fingerprint icon appears followed by a check mark upon a successful scan. Voila, the device is unlocked in style with graphics and sound resembling Apple Pay authentication.

How to Remove Frequently Visited Sites in iOS 8

Safari now automatically provides shortcut icons to the most frequently visited websites in iOS 8. Accessing these shortcuts requires opening a new browser tab. Some users may not want to utilize this feature, or don't want Safari keeping track. There are two ways to remove frequently visited sites.

iOS 8.1 jailbreak disable frequently visited sites

On a stock iOS 8 device (not jailbroken) the frequently visited sites can be manually removed. This involves navigating to Settings -> Safari -> Clear History and Website Data -> Clear History and Data. In addition to the frequently visited sites, all history and browsing data will be wiped. This step must be repeated, as frequently visited sites will reappear as Safari is used.

Jailbreak Tweak CallBar Updated for iOS 8

CallBar has been officially updated for iOS 8, bringing call management and multitasking to the latest Apple devices. The tweak was just recently updated for iOS 7 with a refined interface design. CallBar works with voice calling as well as FaceTime and FaceTime Audio calls.

A long press on the status bar is all it takes to bring up the CallBar. Calls can be initiated or managed while in progress, all without ever quitting or switching away from the current app being used. CallBar is directly integrated into the Notification Center.

Get the Apple Watch Home Screen on the iPhone

Aeternum brings the Apple Watch interface to jailbroken iPhones running iOS 8. This tweak completely modifies the home screen to take advantage of the open source Apple Watch interface developed by Lucas Mendes. The result is a fully operational likeness of the Apple Watch, right on the iPhone.

In addition to the characteristic circular app icons, behavior of the SpringBoard is modified so that pinch and zoom gestures enlarge and shrink these icons on the home screen. Rearranging icons is also possible, with wiggle mode replaced by icons that spin 360 degrees in place.
